You must be capable of forming a binding contract to use Rize. By creating an account, you represent that the information you provide is accurate and that you will keep your credentials confidential.
Rize is a free alarm clock application. It has no subscription tier, no in-app purchases, and no advertising; every feature described within the App is available to every signed-in user at no cost. Rize schedules local alarms on your device. Each alarm may optionally require one or more "missions" - which may include mathematics, physical movement, scanning a code, or photographing a location - before it can be dismissed; an alarm with no mission configured is dismissed with a single gesture, like an ordinary alarm clock. Missing a timed mission's window restarts the alarm from the beginning. This mechanism is a core, intended feature of the Service, not a defect.
An account, created by email and password or through Google sign-in, is required to use Rize so that your alarms can sync across reinstalls and devices. You are solely responsible for all activity that occurs under your account and for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use of your account.
You agree not to:
(a) interfere with, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its related systems;
(b) access or attempt to access another user's account without authorization;
(c) reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any portion of the App except where such restriction is prohibited by applicable law;
(d) use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable local, state, national, or international law.
Photographs you capture for a mission, and any audio, image, or video files you import, are processed and stored locally on your device and are not transmitted to us or to any third party. You retain all rights to this content. We claim no ownership interest in it.
The App, including its design, graphics, and software, is owned by us and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. No right, title, or interest in the App is transferred to you other than the limited right to use it in accordance with these Terms.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that an alarm will sound under every condition: reliability depends on your device's notification permissions, battery-saving state, silent mode configuration, and operating system, all of which are outside our control. Do not rely on Rize as your sole method of waking for any circumstance where lateness carries a serious consequence.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM YOUR ACCESS TO OR USE OF, OR INABILITY TO ACCESS OR USE, THE SERVICE.
You may stop using Rize and delete your account at any time from the Account screen. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you violate these Terms.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date above. Continued use of Rize after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where local consumer-protection law provides otherwise.
